Track for Marion

The Case for a Public Track

Marion County needs a dedicated, public outdoor track facility. Currently, runners in our community have limited access to quality track facilities for training, racing, and community events.

Current Situation

Local runners currently rely on school tracks with limited hours and access restrictions. This creates barriers for:

  • Adult runners training for races
  • Youth athletes developing their skills
  • Community track events and races
  • Fitness enthusiasts seeking a safe running surface

Benefits

  • Health & Wellness: Provides a safe, measured space for exercise
  • Community: Creates a gathering place for runners and fitness enthusiasts
  • Economic Impact: Attracts track meets and running events to the area
  • Youth Development: Supports youth athletics and development programs
